Philip is the current Councillor for Talbot and Branksome Woods and has, over the last four years, worked hard on local issues. He’s prioritised forging a close relationship with the Universities, enabling a seat at the table when decisions are being made about their future expansion, in order to protect local residents. Having previously lived in Talbot Village backing onto the heath, he also takes a special interest in the protection of this beautiful area.
Philip has three young children and a wife who is a GP Partner at local Talbot Medical Centre, meaning health issues, particularly around social care, are important to him and his family. With a background in property, he’s used these skills to see that any development in the area is handled sensitively, and also as a Member of the Cabinet of Bournemouth Council to oversee the widespread regeneration of our town. He’s very excited about the opportunities that BCP Council now has, having also been the Bournemouth Cabinet Member overseeing the merger.
Philip has been a member of the Executive of Bournemouth West Conservative Association for over five years. He is a committed campaigner and wants to work with as many Talbot Woods residents as possible. He knows the area well and will do whatever he can to protect and enhance it.
