Nicola was born in Poole and went to Talbot Heath School. She studied in the Midlands and Venice and lived in London and the Far East before returning to Bournemouth with her young family in 2006.
First elected in 2007 for Wallisdown and Winton West, she was delighted to have the opportunity to stand in Westbourne and Westcliff where she lives. She was Deputy Leader of Bournemouth Council between 2012 and 2019, holding the portfolio for Education and Children’s Services. She has overseen the investment of almost £100m in Bournemouth schools and the creation of a new regional adoption agency for all of Dorset.
Away from local government service, Nicola can be found running after her terrier, Ollie, on the beach, sweeping sand from her beach hut or spending time with her family. Her interests include her garden, reading and all things Spanish.
