Having served Branksome East since 2008, Karen is a highly experienced councillor and a strong advocate for residents. With a passion for supporting the vulnerable in our community Karen has been proud to serve as the cabinet member in Poole for Social Care and Housing since 2013 as well as being a key member on the conurbation wide shadow executive who had responsibility for delivering the new BCP authority.

Living locally with husband John and rescue dog Bella, Karen has two grown up children and two grandchildren. A prominent community voice Karen has campaigned alongside residents across issues including the continued protection of our Heath, supporting Coy Pond as well as holding our ever expanding Universities to account. Never backward in coming forward, Karen will continue to be a vocal and effective campaigner for residents in BCP Council. 

Karen is the current Councillor in Talbot and Branksome Woods Ward and has served since 2019.
