Hazel Allen has lived in Bournemouth for many years and has worked fulltime for the NHS for almost 30 years. She is a Consultant Nurse in Liver Disease at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital and leads a team of nurses working across Dorset.
With a Master’s degree in Health Education and Promotion from Southampton University, Hazel is passionate about public health and has worked with charities providing training and delivering national health awareness and screening project. She is also patron and policy advisor for the UK charity Liver4Life.
She has been active in local politics for some time, and is passionate about helping people – something which carries over from her day job. Bournemouth is rapidly changing, which is exciting but comes with its own challenges – particularly in balancing the concerns of businesses and local residents. Hazel is keen to use her skills and connections to make sure that our area works for everyone.
Hazel Allen is BCP Councillor for Bournemouth Central Ward and Cabinet Lead Member for Homeless. With a background in Health she has a particular interest in Homeless Health Care and Public Health.
