There is a perennial problem of surface flooding which affects some of Poole Lane and the surrounding streets.
The work required is quite technical. Although there are Wessex Water gullies, there are no highway drains, and no matter how often the gullies are cleared of leaves, debris from Turbary Common will wash down and block them again in no time. Water quickly builds up, flooding Poole Lane, between Moore Avenue and Mayfair Gardens. Council officers have suggested changes to Poole Lane drainage would greatly improve things, although in extreme situations there may still be problems.
